Community Service can involve several tracks for those seeking hours. Our most popular volunteering opportunities are with the SOS Safe Ride program of Frederick County as a helpful designated driver.
- Super Quick to Sign Up
- Accumulate up to 5 Hours Per Night!
- Official Letter of Completion Provided to Courts
- Character witness from our charity will appear at your court hearing (upon lawyer request)
- Volunteer on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday evenings! Relaxed environment, great for networking.

Every volunteer helps create a safer, stronger Frederick County, but how you serve depends on your schedule. Whether you prefer evening shifts preventing impaired driving or flexible daytime rides for neighbors in need, there's a place for you to make an impact.
Daytime/Weekday Program:
Help neighbors reach the places that matter.
Provide daytime transportation for residents who need reliable access to medical appointments, work, grocery stores, community services, and other essential destinations.

Evening/Weekend Program:
Prevent impaired driving when it matters most.
Volunteer during our busiest hours by helping get impaired drivers—and their vehicles—home safely. As a chase driver, you’ll directly support one of Frederick County’s leading drunk driving prevention programs while earning community service hours quickly.

- 9:30 PM – 2:00 AM
- Earn up to 5 community service hours in a single night
