The Safe Ride Foundation is proud to share that our founder, Wayne Dorsey, was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year 2025 by the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce.
This award recognizes Wayne’s 10 years of service through The Safe Ride Foundation, including the growth of SOS Safe Ride, the prevention of more than 20,000 potential DUIs, and the raising of more than $3 million in funding to support the organization’s mission.
But Wayne wants to be clear: this is not just his award.
This is a community award. Our award.
Safe Ride exists because Frederick County believed in the mission. Volunteers gave their time. Donors gave generously. Local businesses opened their doors. Government partners invested in the work. Staff members carried the mission forward night after night, ride after ride.
Entrepreneurship is often talked about as an individual accomplishment, but community impact is never built alone.
Thank you to the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce for this honor, and thank you to everyone who has been part of the Safe Ride story.
