Go into the world and do well, but more importantly, go into the world and do good. Create a change, and moreover, become the change.
We fight every week, for Frederick!
The Safe Ride Foundation is a Frederick County, Maryland 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a healthier community through innovative transportation solutions. Through programs like SOS Safe Ride and Rides for Good, we work to prevent impaired driving, reduce transportation instability for low-income families and older adults, and help residents safely access the places and services they need. We also provide support and relief to victims of impaired driving and their families.
Founded in 2015 by Frederick native Wayne Dorsey, the Safe Ride Foundation has spent the past decade developing innovative transportation programs that make Frederick County safer and healthier, from preventing impaired driving to helping low-income families, older adults, and other transportation-limited residents access essential destinations.
Our Philosophy
At the Safe Ride Foundation, we believe transportation should help people make safer choices, stay connected to opportunity, and live healthier lives.
That can mean giving someone a safe way home after a night out, helping an older adult get to a medical appointment, or making sure a working family can reach the places they need to go.
We understand that people are human, plans change, cars break down, and transportation is not always as simple as getting behind the wheel.
Whether we are preventing impaired driving or helping someone overcome transportation instability, our philosophy is the same:
Transportation should never be a barrier to making a good decision or living a thriving life.
