The Safe Ride Foundation Staff
Wayne Dorsey
Founder/CEO/Executive Director
Wayne Dorsey is the Freakishly Tall Founder, CEO, and Executive Director of The Safe Ride Foundation. Originally from Charles Town, West Virginia, Wayne started the organization at just 23 years old and has since grown it into a local nonprofit that has brought in more than $3 million in funding since inception. He leads the overall vision, strategy, and direction of the organization, while somehow also finding time to perform stand-up comedy, practice jiu jitsu, play seven instruments, code the SOS Safe Ride app, and talk at unnecessary length about professional wrestling. A former sponsored skateboarder and West Virginia University computer engineering student, Wayne loves his wife, God, and of course, his Puppy. Wayne’s vision leads the organization with poise and a culture of loving accountability.
Kaite Anderson
Accountability Coordinator
Kaite Anderson is the Accountability Coordinator for The Safe Ride Foundation, which means she keeps staff, contractors, KPIs, productivity, creativity, and all the behind-the-scenes nerdy stuff moving in the right direction. Based in Frederick, Maryland, Kaite makes sure the team is challenged, clear, cared for, and actually following through on what they said they were going to do. Before joining Safe Ride, she spent several years as a college professor and earned a master’s degree in Wildlife Conservation. She also works with Cowork Frederick, loves God, and has an immense, deeply respectable love of turtles.
Noodle
Chief Canine Officer
Noodle is the Chief Canine Officer of The Safe Ride Foundation. As our office dog, Noodle’s official duties include greeting staff at the door, providing emotional support, accepting cuddles, offering paw shakes, and boosting morale simply by existing. A purebred Goldendoodle from the ethical North Carolina breeder known as (wait for it…) “Oopsie Doodles”, Noodle enjoys Cheez Whiz, playing with boomerangs, and being treated like the celebrity she clearly is. She has also begun her Instagram journey, where she is learning how to speak at @NoodleSaysHi.
Douglas Ford
Assistant Program Manager, SOS Safe Ride
Douglas Ford is the Assistant Program Manager for SOS Safe Ride, helping keep the program moving smoothly during the late-night hours when safe rides matter most. Based in Thurmont, Maryland, Doug dispatches rides, answers the phone, supports drivers, and helps maintain the efficiency needed to get people home safely each night. Doug began with SOS as a volunteer, became an employee, and eventually stepped into management, making him a true Safe Ride success story. Outside of work, he is an avid rock climber and a lover of death metal.
Wilhem Hausmann
Director of First Impressions
Wilhem Hausmann is the Director of First Impressions for The Safe Ride Foundation, leading much of the organization’s on-site marketing, booth presence, bar relations, and breathalyzer sales. Based in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, Wilhem is often one of the first people the public meets when they encounter Safe Ride out in the community, which makes his role especially important. He is also a filmmaker, a true theater kid, a proud Hamilton fan, and the owner of an incredibly German name that sounds like it should come with its own dramatic entrance music.
Adela Dorsey
Program Manager, Rides for Good & Volunteer Coordinator
Adela Dorsey serves as the Program Manager for Rides for Good and Volunteer Coordinator for The Safe Ride Foundation. Based in Hagerstown, Maryland, Adela leads volunteer recruitment and management, helps guide the direction of the Rides for Good program, and manages important relationships with community stakeholders. Born in Zvolen, Slovakia, Adela immigrated to the United States in 2019 and brings a unique mix of creativity, precision, and heart to everything she does. She is also a talented wood artist and the founder of Adela the Craftswoman, creating marquee letters, murals, mosaics, and furniture throughout the DMV.
Patrick O’Reilly
Community Impact Manager, SOS Safe Ride
Patrick O’Reilly is the Community Impact Manager for SOS Safe Ride, where he focuses on volunteer retention, community service impact, and making sure volunteers feel engaged, appreciated, and cared for. Based in Owings Mills, Maryland, Patrick also leads the Steered Straight program, attending court hearings and helping demonstrate the meaningful contributions community service participants make to the organization. Patrick brings fantastic energy to every room, loves anime, has strong software opinions, and can start a conversation with pretty much anyone.
Cory Metcalf
Social Media Manager
Cory Metcalf is the Social Media Manager and one of the main creative voices behind Safe Ride. Based in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Cory handles everything from social media strategy and copywriting to graphic design and video production, helping tell the story of Safe Ride in a way that feels sharp, human, and engaging. Outside of the organization, Cory is a working actor, a fan of the show The Pitt, and, frankly, one of the best-dressed people on the team.
Christian Leak
Designated Driver, SOS Safe Ride
Christian Leak is one of SOS Safe Ride’s permanent Designated Drivers, helping provide the reliable coverage that allows the program to say yes when someone needs a safe ride home. Based in Frederick, Maryland, Christian’s role is similar to the paid firefighter model: while many volunteers make the mission possible, a few dependable paid drivers help ensure the program can operate consistently. Christian is 6’6”, loves wrestling, and is the oldest of three siblings, which means responsibility and height both seem to run strong with him.
Denise David
Controller
Denise David is the Controller for The Safe Ride Foundation, overseeing the organization’s accounting, financial monitoring, and reporting. In other words, she helps make sure the numbers are accurate, the finances are organized, and the mission remains supported by strong financial stewardship. Denise loves math, which is exactly what you want in a controller, and she also loves her husband, her son, her golden retriever, and her Christian faith.
Amijah Harris
Designated Driver, SOS Safe Ride
Amijah Harris is one of SOS Safe Ride’s permanent Designated Drivers, helping provide the dependable coverage needed to get people and their cars home safely. Based in Frederick, Maryland, Amijah plays an important role in keeping the program reliable on nights when demand is high and volunteer availability can vary. Like the paid firefighters in a volunteer firehouse, Amijah helps make sure SOS can keep saying yes. Outside of Safe Ride, Amijah loves novelty mugs and is the proud parent of two beautiful children.
Kalee Tongco
Administrative Assistant
Kalee Tongco is the Administrative Assistant for The Safe Ride Foundation, though “other duties as assigned” might be the most accurate job description. She answers the phone during the day, handles administrative tasks across the organization, and helps keep the gears turning in countless small but essential ways. Kalee brings an incredibly versatile skill set to the team, balancing social butterfly energy with closeted nerd credentials, which makes her a perfect fit for a role where no two days look exactly the same.
Ralf Diez
Web Designer
Ralf Diez is the Web Designer for the Safe Ride Foundation and the creative mind behind the website you’re exploring today. His work helps make the Foundation’s programs, mission, and resources more accessible and easier for the community to discover online. Originally from the Philippines, Ralf has traveled to Dubai, where he now resides. He is also an avid pickleball enthusiast, bringing a global perspective to his design work, and a few strong opinions about paddles and court time.
Alexander Garber
Backend Mobile App Developer & Project Manager
Alexander Garber is the Backend Mobile App Developer and Project Manager for the SOS Safe Ride app. Based in Frederick, Maryland, Alexander helped code and project manage both backend and frontend development, and he continues to lead troubleshooting, bug fixes, and new app updates. Originally from Israel, Alexander is also a woodworker and speaks no fewer than eight languages, which means he can probably debug an app, build a table, and explain the problem in multiple languages before lunch.
Rei Martires
Program Coordinator, Rides for Good
Rei Martires is the Program Coordinator for Rides for Good and the true master of the calendar. Rei connects volunteers with passengers, schedules rides, registers new passengers, and assesses transportation needs to help make sure the people who rely on Rides for Good can get where they need to go. Outside of Safe Ride, Rei helps run her mom’s real estate company and loves paddleboarding, which means she is just as comfortable navigating schedules as she is navigating open water.
Adriana Herrera
Community Driver, Rides for Good
Adriana Herrera is a Community Driver for Rides for Good, providing reliable transportation coverage on high-volume days when guaranteed driver availability makes all the difference. Based in Frederick, Maryland, Adriana helps the program say yes to more rides and serve more people who need access to medical care, employment, groceries, and other essential destinations. Outside of the organization, Adriana loves jiu jitsu, skateboarding, and music production, and is Instagram famous enough that the rest of us are trying not to act impressed.
Maor Hadad
Frontend Mobile App Developer
Maor Hadad is the Frontend Mobile App Developer for the SOS Safe Ride app, focusing on user experience, user interface, and the parts of the app that riders, drivers, dispatchers, and staff interact with directly. Originally from Israel, Maor helps make sure the app is not only functional, but intuitive and easy to use. He is a textbook Gemini, recently married, and brings a thoughtful eye to the details that shape how people experience Safe Ride technology.
